Woodridge Homes 2016 NZ National Laser Championships
The Woodridge Homes New Zealand Laser National Championships 2016 are done and dusted. Thanks to everyone that helped with organisation and execution of the regatta in testing conditions - especially for those on the water in support boats.
After racing was cancelled on the first day due to strong winds things were looking slightly shakey but good old Welly Wind moderated just enough so that the full race programme was completed over the next three days.
It was a testing competition with Wellington sailors taking out the three biggest fleet classes; Open Radials: George Gautrey; Standard Masters: Andrew Dellabarca; and Radial Masters: Ed Tam. Auckland's Andrew McKenzie was a clear first in the six-boat Open Standard fleet, and French sailor Juliette Bone edged out Amy Anderson in their one on one battle in the 4.7s.
Congratulations to all competitors!
